Learning to Trust God

Learning to Trust God

Can We Really Trust God?

My parents live in Alaska and one summer, while visiting them, we decided to go fishing for trout out on the Kenai River with some of our children. For reasons that escape me now, we chose to take the four youngest, ages 2, 4, 6, and 8. It turned out to be one of our more adventurous fishing trips.

Are you wondering what that has to do with learning to trust God in hard times? Read my guest post on Kate Motaung’s blog, Heading Home, to find out!

  • Elizabeth, Thank you for this encouraging word – it was exactly what I needed to hear right now. Since moving to FL in Aug for what I still believe is ‘the job He has for us’, we haven’t been paid, needless to say, I’m struggling. I so appreciate your blog towards the end that says, ‘I don’t want a God I understand, rather one I can trust when I don’t understand.’ Thanks again (found the blog link on LinkedIn – it works!) John

    • John, so sorry to hear you are having such difficulty with your job. That is frustrating and painful. I will believe with you in prayer that God will work it all out for a good that is better than anything you can imagine. We often cannot understand God, but it is in the trusting, not the understanding, where we find peace.
